Chad Johnston
Founder and Creative Director
Chad received his BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University (ISU) in 1996. By 2002 he had been nominated as one of PRINT magazine's 20 Under 30 Best New Visual Artists. In 2009, Chad founded Measure, Inc. to serve as a premiere destination for graphic design services in the Midwest (and as it turns out, far beyond).
Over his 25+ years of professional practice, one of Chad's greatest rewards has been working with students of design and sharing his experience and his passion for the value of the profession and its impact on business and culture. Chad is a frequent guest speaker at Iowa State University among other regional universities and professional organizations. In 2017, Chad became a part-time lecturer at the ISU College of Design, teaching Professional Practice in Graphic Design.
In 2019 Chad certified Measure, Inc. as an LGBT Business Enterprise and Diverse Supplier with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (the exclusive certification body for LGBT-owned businesses), proudly making Measure, Inc, the first, and currently only business in the state of Iowa to be certified with this diversity status. Chad serves on the board of the Iowa LGBT Chamber of Commerce and is committed to bringing visibility to LGBT-owned businesses and the challenges the community faces.
Chad's work has been recognized by PRINT, HOW, ID Magazine, UnderConsideration and the Tokyo Art Director's Club among other local and national professional organizations. His work has been published in Emigré, Four Letter Word and Emotion as Promotion, a Book of Thirst.
